What soroptimists do

Since 1937, Soroptimist International of Joplin, Missouri, has devoted its energy to passionately improving the lives of women and girls in our local community and throughout the world. ​We envision a world where women and girls have the resources and opportunities they need to reach their full potential and live their dreams.

Camp Soroptimist began providing a recreational retreat for Jasper County foster children during the summer of 1984 when members of Soroptimist International of Joplin and employees of the Jasper County Division of Social Services/Children's Division came together to focus ​on the needs of foster children in the area. Camp is one of the club's service programs and causes they support.
